A downloadable game for Windows

The Spooderian menace has won its intergalactic war against Planet Attrition.

In its final hour, Planet Attrition has chosen to stand bravely in the face of their annihilation and take as many of the alien bastards down with them as possible!

This game uses a planet asset created with Pixel Planet Generator by Deep Fold

Music by Chris Logsdon.

Controls

  • Move mouse to aim. Your main weapon fires automatically
  • Left Click to deploy bombs when the bomb meter is full/your reticle is green.

Technical Notes

1. Windows thinks it's a virus: I promise you! It's not! It's just a GameMaker executable, but for some reason Windows sometimes flags them as viruses.  To be able to play the game, you need to create an exception in Windows Defender for the folder the game is located.

2. The game plays too fast: This one's on GameMaker, but if you run into issues with the game running too fast, you'll need to manually set your monitor's refresh rate to 60hz and/or force VSync in your videocard's settings.

This game is SO ADDICTING!  It's all the old school arcade feels you've been looking for.  This is my current high score post yours as well!  Beat my score!

600k!

This is a really neat fast-paced arcade action game! The fire cursor is perfectly sized, just big enough to hit your targets but just small enough that precision is needed, which exacerbates in a crisis as the difficulty ramps up. There's a real adrenaline rush factor as you move to get everything off your buns and cover every angle, praying for the bomb to be ready. It's that white-hot heart-pumping kind of action that would fit right at home in an arcade nestled between Atari classics vying for your quarters. Excellent little game!

Extremely good even as a spider hater

Immediately gripping and visceral, brilliant in its simplicity. One of those games where you don't realize you've been holding your breath and slowly leaning closer and closer to the screen until you suddenly hit game over. Real good!!

Loved this, just a very pure action conceit executed pristinely. Can you beat my 223300 score...?
