Plants for Central Texas

These are my favorite plants for my Central Texas garden. I live outside of Austin, Texas with lots of rocky alkaline soil, hot summers, and lots of wildlife, including numerous deer, so finding plants to grow well in this climate that the deer will leave alone isn't always the easiest -- especially during droughts when the deer will even eat cactus. :/ I'm in Zone 8.
