This state cues up cortisol (and can eventually go low cortisol if we stay stuck here), along with other hormones like Adrenaline, for us to respond to the stressors appropriately. 2️⃣ Parasympathetic Nervous System AKA rest-digest-heal state: when out body is in a safe, calm place. This is when our gut is functioning well, seggs hormones, and blood sugar is stabilized. 3️⃣ Vagal toning happens when we do curated activities to stimulate the vagus nerve. This nerve is within the parasympathetic nervous system, and is the largest nerve. We can help our body and nervous system take on everyday stressors without so many negative effects such as energy crashes, weight issues, puffiness, gut issues etc. We do this through body language — vagal toning + somatic — so whether you are a nurse, a mom, a teacher, a student, when life throws angry bosses, running late to practices, exams your way — you and your body can better handle that stress and essentially for lack of better words not freak out… you can cope. 👏🏻 This is why I found such a profound impact learning these tools to help many other issues I had going on and still use them today.
