Tipton is a city in Mitchell County, Kansas, United States. In 2020, 193 people lived there.[3]
History
[change | change source]Tipton was first called Pittsburg. It was created as Pittsburg in 1872.[4] The people realized that another Pittsburg existed in Kansas, so they changed the name to Tipton. It was named after Tipton, Iowa, the former home of a local resident.[5]
