Álex Quiñónez

Álex Leonardo Quiñónez Martínez (11 August 1989 – 22 October 2021) was an Ecuadorian sprinter. He competed in the 100 metres and 200 metres.[1][2] He took part in representing Ecuador at the 2012 Summer Olympics and 2020 Summer Olympics.

Quiñónez was born in Esmeraldas, Ecuador. He won a bronze medal at the 2019 World Athletics Championships.

Assassination

Quiñónez was shot to death on 22 October 2021 in Guayaquil, Ecuador at the age of 32.[3]
