@Haoreima:: Trying to simplify this thing. "Consorts" is not simple English. Should we say "wives" or "girlfriends" or, if these goddesses are not romantic consorts, stay with "female partners"? Darkfrog24 (talk) 01:22, 10 March 2022 (UTC) Okay forget it; the rest of the article makes it clear they're wives. One other problem: "Southern side" of what? Darkfrog24 (talk) 01:31, 10 March 2022 (UTC)
- Darkfrog24 "Wives" is the exact meaning. "Southern side" or simply "south" means He is associated with the very direction, not particularly southern direction of this place or that place. It has some resemblance with the Norse four direction gods, Chinese four direction guardians, etc. Haoreima (talk) 02:18, 10 March 2022 (UTC)
- Because "the South" means a specific place in many contexts (England, the U.S.), I changed it to "direction south." Can we do better? Darkfrog24 (talk) 05:58, 10 March 2022 (UTC)
- Darkfrog24 It's better if we say "south direction" instead of "direction south" because Regular English Wikipedia article about similar deities use the former way of direction. Haoreima (talk) 06:18, 10 March 2022 (UTC)
- It looks like you might not be able to bring your articles the level of simplification that I as an individual think is necessary for the contest, but since there are no other contestants, it's not like someone else will complain when you win. You're doing all this work, covering good subjects. I'd like it if you practiced simplifying, but still.
- It was neat, though. English is a highly specific language. The word "consort" isn't just a category word that has "wives" and "girlfriends" and "husbands" in it. It has its own meaning. Darkfrog24 (talk) 14:01, 10 March 2022 (UTC)
