Overview
changeThe BYD S8 is a two-door convertible that features a front-engine, front-wheel-drive layout. The design of the car has a steel roof and incorporates styling elements reminiscent of other models: the rear design is similar to that of the Renault Mégane CC, while the front takes cues from the Mercedes-Benz CLK.[2]
The car is powered by a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder BYD483QB petrol engine, paired with either a 5-speed manual transmission or a CVT (continuously variable transmission).
Sales
changeThe BYD S8 was primarily sold within the Chinese market. During its production, the car had modest sales numbers: 96 units were sold in 2009, followed by only seven units in 2010. Production ceased after 2010, with the car having sold a total of 103 units throughout its brief market presence.[3]
