The aim of the article was to discuss scientist Marxist philosophy in Poland as one of the variet... more The aim of the article was to discuss scientist Marxist philosophy in Poland as one of the varieties of the broad trend of revisionism in Marxism. Its main goals and assumptions can be read as a modernization of dialectical materialism in the spirit of critical realism and critical rationalism. The achievements of Scientist Marxism were compared with the perspective of Humanist Marxism, considered in Poland to be the main version of Marxist revisionism, and also with assumptions of Poznań Methodological School, which is considered as local version of Analytical Marxism.

This article presents the results of a quantitative and qualitative analysis of retraction notice... more This article presents the results of a quantitative and qualitative analysis of retraction notices from philosophy journals with global reach. The analysis is based on the Retraction Watch Database and carried out with respect to the recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics. In quantitative terms, the sample consists of only 0.48% of the records in the entire database. Hence, the statistics of publication retractions presented here can only form the basis for a case study. The article attempts to lay out the most common reasons for the retraction of philosophy articles following the typology presented in COPE documents. Our systematic approach shows that the normative regulation of publication retraction should be considered inadequate for the publishing practice in philosophy.

Traugott Konstantin Österreich, autor powszechnie przyjętej klasyfikacji neokantyzmu, włącza Nels... more Traugott Konstantin Österreich, autor powszechnie przyjętej klasyfikacji neokantyzmu, włącza Nelsona, razem ze szkołą neofriesowską, do zorientowanego na Jakoba Friesa psychologicznego kierunku w neokrytycyzmie, aczkolwiek czyni to dopiero w dwunastym wydaniu Grundriss der Geschichte der Philosophie Überwega z 1923 roku 2. W opracowywanym przez niego jedenastym wydaniu Grundriss... z 1916 roku nie było jeszcze w jego klasyfikacji ani neokrytycyzmu, ani nazwiska Nelsona, ani nawet reprezentowanego przezeń siódmego kierunku psychologicznego 3. Z klasyfikacją Österreicha-Überwega koresponduje podział przyjęty w Polsce przez Janinę Kiersnowską-Suchorzewską, w którym kierunek psychologiczny awansuje z siódmej pozycji na pozycję drugą, tuż za kierunkiem fizjologicznym Hermanna von Helmholza i Friedricha Alberta Langego. W odróżnieniu od Österreicha-Überwega Kiersnowska-Suchorzewska zalicza Friesa i Nelsona do kierunku neokantyzmu, który nazywa psychologicznym krytycyzmem 4. Wydaje się, że podjęła próbę "historycznego" uporządkowania klasyfikacji Österreicha-Überwega w postaci linii rozwojowej od tak zwanego wczesnego neokantyzmu po "dojrzały" neokantyzm szkół neokantowskich. Klasyfikację Österreicha-Überwega oraz Kiersnowskiej-Suchorzewskiej przyjmuje i modyfikuje Maria Szyszkowska, a później Beata Trochimska-Kubacka 5. W podobnym duchu Nelsona z neokantyzmem łączą Andrzej J. Noras, a także Tadeusz Gadacz 6. Mimo to, jeśli na pytanie o neokantyzm Nelsona odpowiemy pozytywnie, zaraz nasuwa się kolejne: jaki kierunek neokantyzmu reprezentował. Wymienieni historycy filozofii zaliczający Nelsona do neokantyzmu klasyfikują go przeważnie jako reprezentanta kierunku psychologicznego. Opracowano jednak alternatywną klasyfikację, która wiąże tę postać z ośrodkiem uniwersyteckim w Getyndze. I tak, Lewis White Beck, autor artykułu w The Encyclopedia of Philosophy poświęconego neokantyzmowi, zalicza go do neokantyzmu getyńskie-52 Studia z historii filozofii 2

Leonard Nelson is known primarily as a critic of epistemology in the Neo-Kantian meaning of the t... more Leonard Nelson is known primarily as a critic of epistemology in the Neo-Kantian meaning of the term. The aim of this paper is to investigate the presuppositions and consequences of his critique. I claim that what has rarely been discussed in this context is the problem of the possibility of metaphysics. By the impossibility of epistemology Nelson means the possibility of metaphysical knowledge. I intend to devote this paper to the analysis of this problem in relation to the Neo-Kantian background.

The article looks at the concept of value in Heinrich Rickert?s philosophy of value and attempts ... more The article looks at the concept of value in Heinrich Rickert?s philosophy of value and attempts a systematic study of this concept in the context of the fundamental problems in Roman Ingarden?s ontology of value. The result is a systematised presentation of Rickert?s notion of value and a series of conclusions concerning fundamental aspects of his philosophy of culture. The essential discrepancy that the comparison reveals concerns the formal character of Rickert?s philosophy of values, which implies a great deal of openness and freedom in the understanding and implementation of values. Another fundamental difference exposed by Ingarden concerns the ontological status of values.

Artykuł prezentuje wyniki analizy ilościowej i jakościowej zawiadomień o retrakcji w publikacjach... more Artykuł prezentuje wyniki analizy ilościowej i jakościowej zawiadomień o retrakcji w publikacjach z zakresu filozofii (o zasięgu globalnym) zawartych w Retraction Watch Database, z punktu widzenia zaleceń Komisji Etyki Publikacji. Pod względem ilościowym próba wynosi jedynie 0,48% rekordów w całej bazie, przez co trudno uznać ją za reprezentatywną dla dyscypliny, a tym bardziej niemożliwe jest uogólnienia wniosków na całą aktywność naukową. Statystyka wycofań publikacji może być jednak podstawą do studium przypadków. Treść zawiadomień jest często niekompletna lub niejednoznaczna. Normatywne uregulowania retrakcji publikacji w odniesieniu do przedmiotu badań należy uznać za nie w pełni adekwatne do specyfiki praktyki wydawniczej w filozofii.
