November

November was a busy months for me. And not easy one as I faced two wrist injuries. At the beginning, I strained my left wrist during training. After about 2 weeks everything got back to normal, but then the same thing happened to my right wrist (but it got better in few days). I was still machine sewing a bit then, but hand sewing wasn't possible at all.

Besides all the Christmas ornaments I made, I've finished low volume quilt for my mum (which she liked very much :D ). It's backed with a soft and thick cream fleece:

Listopad to dlugi miesiac.

I also finished a pillow cover for Modern She Made swap (I sent it after the deadline, which is not my usual thing to do, but I hope it will arrive before Christmas). Parts of the pillow are paper pieced. The front is mostly made of Oakshott Rubies, thin orange stripes are of Kona cotton, middle stripe and orange border is from Outfoxed (Lizzy House) collection. The colours are really intensive:

Uszylam poduszke na wymianke (wyslalam po czasie, ale termin wysylki byl jeszcze wtedy, gdy moj nadgarstek byl zabandazowany, wiec mam usprawiedliwienie ;). Przod czesciowo PP, uszyty z Oakshott Rubies, Kony cotton i materialu z kolekcji Outfoxed (Lizzy House). Bardzo intensywne i energetyczne kolory:

I also received a pillow cover from Modern She Made swap from Jen aka A Quilting Jewel. It came together with a cute little pincushion and a set of threads:

Z tej samej wymianki doszla do mnie poduszka od Jen aka A Quilting Jewel. Jest przesliczna. W 'moich' kolorach i pieknie przepikowana:

A layer cake of Curio and a charm pack of Mama said SEW arrived also to my door. Just had to buy the layer cake. Love the colours and prints in Curio and as it's so hard to get already, I wanted to have it before it will be too late. And a charm pack will always be handy:

Doszedl do mnie layer cake z kolekcji Curio, ktory zamowilam kilka tygodni temu. Kupilam, bo materialy bardzo mi sie podobaja, a niestety, coraz trudniej je dostac. Nie chcialam, zeby bylo za pozno. A charm pack zawsze sie przyda:

And it seems the winter is finally comming... Look whom I've got today in the morning :D (now that's a bit unusuall great tit, LOL; first time I saw a great spotted woodpecker eating like this):

No i wyglada na to, ze zima wreszcie nadchodzi... dzis mialam nietypowego goscia na sikorkowej kulce :D

Private swap with Natasha

It was already some months ago that I asked Natasha if she would swap with me. She is making most amazing dolls I've seen (you can see all of them in her shop). She agreed :) She asked me for a pillow similar to the one which I made for swap with Julianna and I chose THIS doll - Tanechku

When I received the package I couldn't believe my eyes! The doll is beautiful. All the details are perfect, painting on her face the most exquisite and the colours of her dress and hair are charming. Natasha, thank you for swapping with me and for making such a wonderful doll! You are a real artist.

Wszystko idealnie do siebie pasuje - stroj, kolory, wlosy... jestem zachwycona!

FTLOS MQ received

The titles looks like some kind of a code, LOL.

I received today two packages. One with a wonderful mini quilt and a zipped purse from For the Love of Solids flickr swap. MQ was one of my favourites in the swap. Love the grey shades and that red square. It was made by Claudia from 'Machen und tun' blog. Thank you Claudia!

And long awaited (very long) fabric from Hawthorne Threads:

Solid green MQ for a swap

If you haven't sign up yet for the FQS sponsored giveaway you still have a chance till Friday 26th of August (24:00 CEST). Just go HERE and write a comment!

I finished a MQ for 'For The love Of Solids' swap (there is a button on my side bar; it's a flickr swap). My partner's favourite colour was green. I used Kona cotton charm squares which I cut in quarters, plus some white kona cotton for the borders. For binding and back I also used Kona, but I don't remember the colour name anymore:

MQ will travel together with the metal frame purse on Saturday :)

Dandelion pillow and Swap recieved

I couldn't resist to finish this pillow. I started it long time ago - about few weeks I think - and didn't have the motivation to finish. There were always other things I was sewing or I simply didn't have the mood to spend time with my sewing machine ;)

Today I did it. It measures about 40x40 cm, there are few kona cottons (two shades of olive, white, black and light yellow; sorry, don't remember the names) and two fabrics from Hope Valley in Fiesta from DS.

My Dandelion pillow:

I did some raw edge applique and free hand machine quilted it using cream, black and white thread:

The back is zipped:

And today was my lucky day! I received a MQ from CASharp as a part of Swap Till You Drop (STUD) on Flickr. You may remember my Winnie the Pooh MQ which I did for her.
I got a bag full of goodies and a wonderful quilt with Remi from Ratatouille:

Thank you Cindy for such a marvelous quilt!

Fox mug rug for Scrappy Mug Rug Swap

Again I joined Scrappy Mug Rug Swap. This time the mug rug is more colourful :) and (*tadaam*) with the fox...
The project was looking differently. I planned to paper piece the little fox and maybe some clouds on the sky... but then decided that it would be extremely hard to paper piece such a small thing. So instead, I pieced the background and appliqued the fox (I konw it doesn't look perfect, but it also wasn't easy to traditionally applique the fox). Hope my partner will like it. Otherwise I will have to make something different:

Rainbow mosaic machine cover

I've just finished the machine cover for Sewn Spaces Swap. I like it myself ;) I like it so much that I was considering to leave it for my machine... unfortunately, my machine is smaller than the one of my swap partner.

Together with the project:

I hope my swap patner will like it :)

I submit my machine cover for this month's rainbow challange on Patchworkowa Gwiazda Blog.

Fabrics for mug rug and potholders

Finally \o/ ! Today one package with fabrics came. The more important one, in which were all needed fabrics for making a mug rug for Scrappy Mug Rug Swap and potholders for Potholder Pass 6 :)

I already started with the mug rug. It will look like this when I will finish (it's just a rough sketch in PS):

I have these fabric to create it:

And this is the project for the set of 2 potholders in red. The theme for this round of the Potholder Pass is monotone :) (even more rough sketch in PS :P )

I think with this set of fabrics I will manage :) (phoenix will be probably raw edge applique):

Now you can see what I'm working on :)

Another soft sculpture bird and a make up pouch

Finally I can show you my next soft sculpture birdie. I made it for the Bird Swap organised by Novinka about two weeks ago. I got the email today, that my swap partner got the package. This bird I made out of felt, from the basic reason, that I didn't have the yellow solid fabric then (O.K., felt birdie is few times quicker to make than a fabric one...). Here it is (and it caught a fly ;) ):

My question... What bird is it?
And again, Tuome was the first one to answer :) It's Golden oriole

And a thing which I made today - a make up pouch (or a cosmetic bag if you prefare). The outer fabric was chosen by the future owner, lining I chose by myself:

The pouch will travel together with Mr Tinycat:

There are some secret (*shhhh*) projects going on. You can be sure that I will show off as fast as I can :)

Hugs
