Gold Honeycomb Bee Bar Earrings hand tooled leather - hand painted hand dyed Brown and Gold
This darling honeycomb pattern is hand tooled into a piece of vegetable tanned leather that was hand cut to a bar shape. The leather is then hand dyed a deep brown and the hexagons are hand painted metallic gold with a tiny paint brush. The gold paint shimmers delicately in the light and is accented with gold tone stainless steel hooks. I make these earrings from scratch by cutting the shape from a hide of leather, hand tooling (which means tapping the leather with tiny metal tools to mold the leather into shape) the design, hand painting the dye onto the leather, and then adding the hardware.
