Evidence based practice is key to delivery of patient care and as the allied health professionals... more Evidence based practice is key to delivery of patient care and as the allied health professionals (AHPs) and nurses have evolved, research has become an integral component to practice. Many clinicians interested in developing a clinical research career do however find securing of resources for implementing research in their workplace challenging. The aims of this session are to provide an overview of current available sources of funding for AHPs and nurses and to discuss ways in which this may be achieved. The session is intended to be applicable to AHPs and nurses who are involved in clinical research and/or are interested in pursuing a clinical academic research career. Some experiential notes will be shared with particular reference to examples of previous funding applications. Developing clinical research ideas and working with coapplicants and/or supervisory/academic support will also be discussed. A final overview of helpful hints and tips will be shared with the audience as well as time for reflections on delegates own practice and any questions.
