January´s Design Team host - Marie Johansson

Well it´s January and we´re adding a new feature here at Punky Scraps. Each month one of the Design Team members will be your host. You will learn more about the specific designer and what their secrets are. Oh well, they might tell you something about their style and how they achieve it too. AND as a treat for you that take part in our challenges, the host will give a RAK to one of the months players!

Ok I´m first then....

.... Marie (known as Mison in the Scrap world) Johansson. Lives in a small village in the northern parts of Sweden. I´m addicted to scrapbooking since more than 8 years now. I love that it makes me think and reflect about things that have happend to me and my family. And for me it is a way of relaxing after a hard days work as a Intensive Care Nurse.

At first when I found scrapbooking to be my new hobby, it was the colored and patterned papers that drew my attention. Then I started loving layering and now I´m a complete mess....

I love playing around with paint, gesso and different mist/spray paints. I build layers with the different mediums and papers, journaling cards, stamping and other decorations. Even though I mess up my pages pretty bad, I try to keep some sort of structure of it all.

My work can look like this;

As for missions - I do have a cople accept from Punky Scraps; Creative Scrappers, Challenge Me Happy, a Swedish online enzine called Allt om Scrap (all about scrap) and a stamp & paper manufacturer called Papermaze Nordic. BUT as I guess many of you who read this I dream of new fun international missions. Suggestions - wink, wink....

Oh well, you are truly welcome to visit my blog. There you can see more of me and my work, as well as find links to other scrappy goodness!!

Punky Spotlight on..............Cheryl W!

Hello to all you Punky scrappers out there! I'm Cheryl from andhandmadetoo, DT member 'Punky Dudette', and I'm here today to tell you a little bit about myself.

Scrapbook Challenges sketch #261

I'm 29, a freelance editor, and I live in Brussels, Belgium, with  my talented, musical husband and our adorable but sometimes infuriating dog.

Instagram-inspired for True XOXO Girls

I love working from home, as it means I get to go for long walks with the dog (when he's not being lazy, that is).
Punky Scraps challenge #28

I also get to spend time in my study/craft room. You'd think that working in my craft room would be a distraction, but no - in fact, crafting in my office makes sure I keep it tidy!

Big news - I just got married!

Punky Scraps challenge #23

...actually, already nearly 3 months ago - how time flies! And that means I spent most of this year making handmade wedding things. Now that's all over, I get to scrap wedding photos.

Lily Bee Designs sketch #1

Crafting is therapy for me - I can honestly say that since we moved from the UK to Belgium, and I changed from working in an office to having more time to craft, I have been so much happier.

Creative Scrappers sketch #159

Being a part of Punky Scraps team has broadened my horizons even more, allowing me to let go of my hang ups about style, about products, about the industry - I'm far from reaching any destination yet, but I'm loving the journey.
Punky Scraps challenge #34

A few random facts about me:

  • I can't create until I've tidied up - sometimes the whole house. But I refuse to employ a cleaner.
  • I like rock n roll - my singing, dancing, dressing and even my arting is inspired by the 1950s.
  • I desperately want blue hair, but instead it is red.
  • I have had a number of psychic experiences, but they've become less frequent as I've gotten older.
  • Listening to the blues makes me happy.
  • I have nine tattoos and counting.
  • I love reading, cartwheeling, baking, complete sets of things, cherries, and sitting on the sofa with a cup of tea, a book and my husband and his guitar.
  • I like waterfalls and rivers, romance (although I'm not romantic at all), blogs, dreaming (as in sleep dreaming), and lemonade.
  • I want to learn the harmonica, have green fingers, travel far and wide, have a bigger craft room, and get some chickens and maybe a goat too.
  • I dislike narrow-mindedness, politicians, exclusion, imbalance, gossip, bad drivers, karaoke, and monkeys.
  • Oh, and I HATE bananas.
I'll leave you with a page I just created:

not for any challenge - just for me
