Chantel Gray | 🪴 Plants + DIY on Instagram: "Propagating Snake Plants is such a fun experiment! It can be tricky when you have such flat, short cuttings that want to fall over in the water. Stringing them up like this and hanging them this way, keeps them from moving and falling over! In a few months we should have roots and baby pups will follow in the months after! I’m currently experimenting with something new too that I’ll keep you updated on! Remember the little chunks that we cut off when we snipped the V at the bottom? I’m trying this with those as well because they should become plants of their own just as easily! Many people suggest to let their snake plant cuttings callous over before putting in water, but I’ve never had much success doing it this way. I prefer to go straight

TIPS: -tap sides of pot to loosen rootball -some nursery pots can easily be cut with scissors -put some elbow grease into unpotting mature specimens—they’ll bounce back! 2. Separate vines + remove spent soil. TIPS: -use a small cultivator to untangle the rootball -(sparingly) cut back some of the longer roots -aerial roots can be trimmed and trained to regrow into moss pole 3. Position vines on new pole + secure using coated wire. TIPS: -cut 4-5in pieces of wire -secure each vine at the base, every 2-3 nodes and just before the newest node at the top 4. Continue securing remaining vines, spacing them evenly around the pole 5. Upsize your pot + backfill w/ soil. T
Chantel Gray | 🪴 Plants + DIY on Instagram: "So, what are your leaves telling you?! Yellowing starting in the center of leaf - lack of light! Yellowing may be sporadic across the plant and not have any pattern or anything. Light yellowing starting on the outside of the leaves - usually an underwatering issue. It’s often paired with crispy brown tips and is often found at the base of the plant, working its way up! Your plant needs a goooood drink! Dark yellowing starting on the outside of the leaf, and may appear translucent in areas. This is a huge sign of over watering! Can be sporadic across the plant, but most often starts as the base and works its way up/out. You should water your plant less frequently, and if the yellowing continues, consider a repot to check on the roots! Brown

Jamie Walton | Nettles & Petals on Instagram: "Re-Plant Carrots and Never Buy Seed Again 🥕🌱 I really enjoy growing carrots in the vegetable garden as they are more than just an edible crops! 😊🌱 They are biennial, so in their first year they produce the carrot that we eat but in their second year they produce ornamental umbels of tiny white flowers that are loved by pollinators. 🌱🐝 I direct sow my carrots and mulch heavily to aid germination, and interplant with onions to help deter carrot root fly. They grow on into mature plants and I pull them throughout the season, but I always either leave some in the ground to overwinter, or store the best ones and replant them the following season so they will then flower in their second year. The flowers then turn to seed heads, which I
