A small slender rectangular cloisonné-enamel vase By Hayashi Kodenji of Nagoya, Meiji era (1868-1912), late 19th/early 20th century Worked in gold and silver wire, each face of the tapering body decorated with a tall stalk of chrysanthemums, two faces with a solitary butterfly hovering above, reserved on a midnight-blue ground, the neck and foot with a band of shield panels enclosing foliate motifs, applied with silver rims. Old and rare polychrome Chinese porcelain vase pot-bellied shape floral decoration and two pheasants bamboo leaves Chinese scriptures 26 cm
It is a pot-bellied polychrome Chinese porcelain vase. It has a flowery decor and two pheasants courting each other topped with bamboo leaves. There are Chinese writings inscribed on the reverse of the decoration (meaning unknown). It is signed with an acronym representing a volcano in a circle. It is in very good condition. Height: 26cm. Collar diameter: 9.5 cm. Diameter: 20cm. Weight: 1370g.

A very intricately decorated Japanese satsuma ginger jar that glows from all of the gold decoration. A ceramic has been glazed with a fine crackle buff glaze and then decorated with overglaze enamels and gilt. The decoration is minute and the intricacy is overwhelming. The two main panels depict detailed scenes of court life with Geisha and Samurai. These panels are surrounded with detailed fabric designs in gold..
