She is an elected Fellow of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and Life Member of Speech Pathology Australia and has spoken at the United Nations about communication rights. She has won Editors’ Awards from the Journal of Speech, Language, and Hearing: Speech (2018) and the American Journal of Speech-Language Pathology (2019) and has co-authored 10 books and over 200 articles and chapters on children’s speech acquisition, speech sound disorders, and multilingualism.
