After dinner Villervalle takes part in a family council. His father, Dr Ernst Botman, then announces that he has been appointed by UNESCO as a nutritional expert at an archipelago near Tahiti in the Pacific. Villervalle is happy, because now he will experience how it is to be a Robinson Crusoe in real life. When the father tells him and his sister Lenalisa that they cannot come along because of their schoolwork, they get disappointed. The grandmother intervenes and says that she can take care of the teaching. The children want to bring their dog with them to the Pacific, and the grandmother her cats. They have already put the animals in cages, when the father says no. By mistake the cages are anyhow brought to the train station.
