As the new year began, the refinement of the German front began to stabilise as they settled in their new positions and defended all fronts. Through the course of the war in 1915, the Kaiser's armies pushed deep into Russian territory crushing the Czar's capability to mount any substantial counter-offensive against them. In contrast to Germany's apparent success, Serbia had been dealt an even heavier blow from a combined German-Austro-Hungarian-Bulgarian force. This Central Power army steamrolled the little country that had been the flashpoint of the conflict, and chased the remnants of the Serbian army from the continent. The German alliance had gained another victory.
