The position received by the station in the cleanliness survey index became an issue...See moreIn a cleanliness survey conducted in 2015, one of the prime stations of Samastipur Rail Division, Madhubni was ranked lowest among the 400 other stations. The position received by the station in the cleanliness survey index became an issue of embarrassment for the entire Samastipur Rail Division. Taking it into notice, DRM (Divisional Rail Manager) of Samastipur decided to convert it into one of the most attractive stations across the country. He came up an idea to beautify the entire station premise with Madhubani Paintings. He invited Mithila Painting Artists and requested them to paint their art on every wall of the station. Around two hundred artists transformed the station with their awe-inspiring strokes on the walls inside station premise. With Mithila Paintings on its walls, the station premise became talk not only of the town but also was in news around the world for its grandeur and beauty. The same Madhubani Station which was at the bottom two in the 2015 cleanliness survey, was indexed in the top two in 2018's cleanliness survey of stations. See less
