The couple returns to the scene but can find no evidence of the man they thought they hit. Reluctant to go to the police because the husband had been drinking that night, they hire Mannix to make sure that no one was injured. Mannix approaches the only witness to the incident posing as the driver of the vehicle, but the witness suddenly claims that he saw nothing.
