Shafer tricks Doc at cards, and winds up by holding the old man's I. O. U. for the medicine wagon outfit. The gambler insults Molly, and the hero administers a sound thrashing. The climax comes when Walt uncovers Shafer as the outlaw for whose capture there is a $1,000 reward. Then follows a chase that holds a lot of thrills and suspense. The outlaw escapes in his car, while Walt pursues on horseback. He gives a fine exhibition of breakneck riding down embankments as he shortcuts in order to head off the villain. The highlight comes when the rider stands up in the saddle and makes a flying leap to the speeding auto. A good fight of the rip and tearing variety is staged before the outlaw is subdued. Written by
