She learns that Lord Dunraven is visiting the Hermit Club, so she decides to invite him. On receipt of the invitation, Lord Dunraven laughingly tells some of the club members that she's only after his title, and he makes a wager that he will secure a tramp, dress him in his clothing and don the tramp's attire, and Mrs. Murfe will accept the tramp as Lord Dunraven. He carries out his plan, and the tramp is accepted as Lord Dunraven despite of his crude, uncouth manner. The real Lord Dunraven watches outside the window, but not for long, for a policeman hauls him off to the police station, from which he frantically phones some of the club members. They think it a good joke and leave him there for a while. He finally manages to escape from the jail and bursts in upon the startled Mrs. Murfe and her daughter and tells them what has happened. much to their amazement and confusion. Written by
