The latter decides that he will kill the soldiers in their sleep, and arms his soldiers to do the deed. The daughter of the noble, hearing the plot, wishes to save the officer in charge, and sends him a note to meet her. The meeting takes place, and the attack is made on the sleeping soldiers.
