One of the most visible impacts on employee lifecycles is the phenomenon called the great resignation, a massive wave of workers quitting across industries that began in 2021, after easing of the first pandemic restrictions. As this process is quite recent, there is a research gap in the field which has pushed the authors to examine this topic in more detail. The authors set the following research hypothesis: The great resignation is primarily caused by the ethical, cultural, relational, and personal factors. In order to verify it, the authors conducted original research and analyzed various desk studies. The research was done within a Berlin-based tech startup in the time frame between January 2020 and December 2021. Based on their findings, the authors concluded that the main reasons for employees leaving their workplaces are non-materialistic ones.

Remote and hybrid working models and accelerated digitalization of the human resources processes ... more Remote and hybrid working models and accelerated digitalization of the human resources processes were introduced in most organizations worldwide as a consequence of the COVD-19 pandemic. This digital revolution at the workplace was forced by extraordinary circumstances, thus its impact had not been anticipated before. This motivated the authors to study the new work reality. The research was based on a hypothesis that the digitalization of work and the human resources processes, approaches organizations to the sustainable development ideal. Sustainability is here understood as maintaining a balance between economic, environmental, and social factors. The authors analyzed the impact between the digital processes and the way of working on the following areas: CO2 emissions, creating plastic waste, saving energy, creating a gender-diverse and inclusive workplace. To verify the hypothesis, the authors used their own original and desk research. The original research was conducted within ...

At least since the industrial revolution work is desirable, and its absence excludes from full participation in society. It is claimed, that due to technology, many professions will be pushed out of the job market. That is why we need a discussion on a new project of socio-economic development, from which work is not eliminated.

Sustainable development that relies on the previously mentioned pillars (economy, society, environment) is going to be strongly affected by the virus outbreak. There is a threat that the process of recovering from the corona crisis will accelerate and legitimize the dynamics of surveillance capitalism. A really interesting case is going to be the labor world, where thanks to modern technologies, suppression of personal freedoms and triumph of total surveillance might be particularly easy. However, good scenarios are also plausible. The first 21st century pandemic of that scale may force societies to redefine their current modus operandi and shift capitalism into a more sustainable, humanistic model.

It will be explained how this phenomena affects sustainable development. To present these topics, theoretical concepts, which present precariat in a wider perspective (such as globalization, consumer society, weakening of welfare state) will be presented. Additionally, statistical data will be presented from different European countries, which will illustrate the problem of working-poor. Particularly attention will be put on the young employees (younger than 24 years old), who are mainly affected by this problem.

In many organizations, this change was really sudden and driven solely by the external health crisis circumstances. However, this process, although it is still quite recent, has already made significant remodeling in the world of work. Some companies announced that they are shifting their work models into digital ones. For instance, Twitter allows all its employees to work remotely, and Facebook expects half its staff to do so within a decade. But this can be observed not only within the tech giants but as well at the smaller organizations and startups, such as at the examined company, which has introduced a hybrid model - employees can voluntarily choose between working from home or being on-site.

How does the development of AI (Artificial Intelligence) affect the process of talent acquisition? The author will present the concepts of technological unemployment, creative class, millennials (generation Y), humanistic management, sustainable development, CSR and new managerial models in light of current social changes. Humanistic management as a broader concept, and humanistic talent attraction as its direct implication, will be presented as an answer to the current technological development. The author presents a narrower topic of human resources management but sees potential in the topic to develop a discussion on future of work in a broader sense.

They are as well the largest group in the workplace. Research shows that Generation Y also works differently than their older colleagues, and they shape how today's organizations are designed and managed. According to the research conducted by Gallup, for Millennials "job is more than just a paycheck". When submitting their job applications, not only do they think about their future income, but they consider many nonmaterialistic factors. The aim of this paper is to present the new (millennial) organizational culture concepts and to see how they influence employees' satisfaction and engagement on the one hand and contribute to the organization's overall success on the other hand.
