Urban Drawings/Paintings

Urban paintings are easier to investigate the relationship of foreground/mid-ground/background elements. Look for works of an urban depiction of the built world around us. Look for their use of lines, color palettes, textures, and the way the pictures are composed. How is it that a visual hierarchy of layering is established? This has to do with detail and the way colors fade when they recede to the background. Where is the horizon line? Where are the vanishing points?
