I’ve had a lot of new followers since I last shared our media unit on here and I’m getting questions daily so if you’re new around here, here’s what we purchased: • 2 x Havsta base units • 2 x Havsta cabinets with bookshelves • @frenchicpaint in Wedding Cake (the perfect IKEA whit paint match!) A local carpenter helped us fit the tongue and groove panelling, the extra MDF shelf above the TV and across the top of the cabinets, and cornice but this could easily be done yourself! In total we spent around £1,100 for everything (based on ikea prices in Jan 2022) - saving us almost £4K! Styling, DIYs & Renovations on Instagram: "SEE CAPTION FOR DETAILS… Transforming the old into the new! 👉 We upgraded our outdated TV unit with sleek IKEA Besta units for a modern, chic look and added plenty of storage space in the process! Materials: •2x Besta Units(1200x400x380mm) with HANVIKEN door fronts and Soft Closing/Push-Open Hinges •Structual Timber (70mmx 45mm) •Timber Screws •Bog Filler •Semi Gloss Paint •Primer Paint •Liquid Nails •Skirting Board (140mm height) •Hardwood Timber Panel in ‘Ash’ (2.4m length) Tools - nail gun, drill, hand sander, drop saw, paint brush, paint roller, circular saw Method: 1. Using the structural timber, create two frames (to a height of 140mm) as a base for the cabinets.
