This mini tutorial shows how you can make these adorable little embroidered felt hearts ♥️ - in this tutorial I am showing how I embroidered the design using a product called Stick n Stitch. You can purchase this on Amazon. Run it through your printer, cut out and peel off the back. Stick to your project and then stitch. Once you’re done, you rinse under warm water to dissolve all of the fibers. It’s pretty slick! - if you don’t want to bother with the wash away stabelizer method, go old school and use a light box, lit computer screen or daytime window and trace the image onto the felt with a heat erase pen. The light showing through the felt allows for the image to be seen and traced. 29K views · 1.9K reactions | When sizing a sulky stick and stitch sticker for a name sweater it’s important to leave some wiggle room on each side to allow for the child’s arms to hang down and not disrupt the font work. I like to take about 1-2” allowance on each side to ensure you can still view the name. If you have the child available you can also put the sweater on and mark where the edges of the sweater show, that way you can be sure that the name will not get hidden under arms! And then go ahead and measure once you take the garment off This works for any design you want to do. Simply measure the area on the sweater or garment you want to cover and replicate the size in canva! I don’t like to rely on font sizes because each font will be different. If you’re working with a particularly small name like “Ivy” or “Sam” make sure you are aware of the height you are getting to ensure you have clearance on the sweater. If it’s a particularly small name you may have to make it much shorter in width. But again size it to the sweater and mark the sweater before printing on your sulky. If you want to test on a plain piece of paper first you could do that and hold it up to the garment to see if it aligns before printing. As always the Sulky Stick and Stitch sheets can be fed through any printer. Just treat it like cardstock and you’ll be fine. If you’re worried about ink staining a garment do a test piece of sulky with a 1” square of ink. Stitch it down and then wash as normal to see if it stains. If it does try printing the design on regular paper and then trace that design onto the sulky using a water soluble marker or crayola washable marker.
