  • Mismatch Finder: We are continuing the work on moving the tool over to the new design system Codex

• Odstęp między akapitami w Wektorze 2022 został powiększony (z 7 do 14 pikseli) i odpowiada teraz wielkości czcionki. Pozwoli to na łatwiejsze rozróżnienie akapitów od zdań wewnątrz nich. [1]
• Funkcja „Domyślnie sortuj tę stronę jako” w edytorze wizualnym znowu działa poprawnie. Nie trzeba już przełączać się do widoku edycji kodu źródłowego, aby edytować słowo kluczowe {{DEFAULTSORT:...}}. [2]

Zmiany w tym tygodniu

• W tym tygodniu nie będzie nowej wersji MediaWiki. [3][4]
• Od 6 grudnia, u osób, które mają włączoną opcję „Pokaż aktywność wątków dyskusji”, zostaną aktywowane ulepszenia stron dyskusji na stronach zawierających magiczne słowo __NEWSECTIONLINK__. Jeśli wystąpią jakieś problemy, prosimy o zgłoszenie ich na Phabricatorze.

Przyszłe zmiany

• Proces zamykania Grid Engine na Toolforge rozpocznie się 14 grudnia. Opiekunowie narzędzi korzystających z tego starego środowiska powinni do tego czasu zaplanować migrację do Kubernetes albo podać w odpowiednim dla swojego narzędzia zadaniu na Phabricatorze plany migracji. [5]

Problemy

• There was a problem showing the Newcomer homepage feature with the "impact module" and their page-view graphs, for a few days in early December. This has now been fixed. [8][9]

• Następne wydanie Wiadomości technicznych zostanie rozesłane 8 stycznia 2024 z powodu sezonu bożonarodzeniowo-noworocznego.

Zmiany w tym tygodniu

• Nowa wersja MediaWiki będzie instalowana na wiki testowych i MediaWiki.org od 19 grudnia, na stronach innych niż Wikipedia i niektórych Wikipediach od 20 grudnia, a następnie na wszystkich wiki od 21 grudnia (harmonogram). W przyszłym tygodniu nie będzie nowej wersji MediaWiki. [12][13]
• Począwszy od 18 grudnia, nie będzie możliwe aktywowanie Dyskusji strukturyzowanych (Flow) na własnej stronie dyskusji, korzystając z menu funkcji eksperymentalnych. Ustawienie to pozostanie dostępne tylko dla osób, które będą chciały dezaktywować tę funkcję na swojej stronie dyskusji. Jest to część prac związanych z końcem wsparcia dla Dyskusji strukturyzowanych. [14]
• Przekierowania w przestrzeni Moduł będą w pełni wspierane. Funkcja „Przenieś” utworzy odpowiednie przekierowanie w miejscu źródłowej strony i takie przekierowania będą odpowiednio rozpoznawane przez oprogramowanie (np. ukrywane na Specjalna:Niepołączone strony). Ręcznie tworzone przekierowania również będą obsłgiwane. [15]

Przyszłe zmiany

• Dokumentacja JavaScript MediaWiki zmieni swój format. W czasie transformacji, możliwe będzie czytanie starszej formy, poprzez wybór wersji 1.41. Opinie o nowej stronie można zgłaszać na stronie dyskusji projektu.
• Wishathon to nowa inicjatywa, która ma zachęcać do współpracy w społeczności Wikimedia, w celu opracowania rozwiązań dla życzeń zbieranych w Badaniu Życzeń Społeczności. Pierwszy Wishathon odbędzie się w dniach 15–17 marca. • New request for comments: Community request for the development team to access inverse properties on client wikis. (Summary: We currently cannot access inverse property values on Wikipedia. This can be a data management issue on Wikipedia as we must always ask ourself if we must introduce an inverse property for cases where we need them. So I think it’s useful to gather the usecases community would want and draft a request for an API to the devteam to do that.)

• Strony o modelu zawartości JSON będą teraz wykorzystywać znaki tabulacji zamiast spacji do robienia wcięć. Znacząco ograniczy to rozmiar stron. [19]
• Gadżety i skrypty użytkowników mogą teraz wykorzystywać nowszą składnię JavaScript, wprowadzoną w ES6 (znane też jako „ES2015”) oraz w ES7 (również „ES2016”). MediaWiki dokonuje walidacji kodu źródłowego, aby chronić resztę funkcjonalności strony przed błędami składniowymi oraz by upewnić się, że skrypty będą poprawnie zinterpretowane we wszystkich wspieranych przeglądarkach. Wcześniej, gadżety mogły jawnie ustawiać opcję requiresES6. Nie jest to już konieczne, a opcja ta zostanie usunięta w przyszłości. [20]

• Od 17 stycznia, nie będzie możliwe logowanie się na wiki Wikimedia z niektórych starszych wersji przeglądarki Chrome (wersje 51–66, wydane w latach 2016–2018). Ponadto, użytkownicy iOS 12 i Safari na macOS 10.14 będą musieli się logować na każdą wiki oddzielnie. [25]
• W zeszłym roku moduł jquery.cookie został uznany za przestarzały i zastąpiony przez mediawiki.cookie. Ostatnio uruchomiono skrypt, który zastąpił wszystkie istniejące do tej pory wywołania starszego modułu. W tym tygodniu usunięty zostanie tymczasowy alias. [26]
