I observed it, too, with older and a slightly newer version.

I have added PURAL to several messages that should use it, at least so as to guide transators, and filed a pull request.
Replace
If 'Import subtitles' is checked, subtitles will be imported, excluding auto-generated ones.
by
If '%1' is checked, subtitles will be imported, excluding auto-generated ones.
When rendering, replace %1 by the current value of string stored as Wikimedia:Video2commons-importsubtitles.
That avoids having to enter, and translate, the text 'Import subtitles' twice, and protects against unnoticed changes. See also https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Localisation#Messages_quoting_each_other
Well, I understood what is meant. I am not a native English speaker. Asking three non-natives whom I just caught on he fly, a group of two and another one, told me that they did not understand what is meant. I only asked them: "Can you tell me what this means: ..." - "thank you"
I Cannot confirm that, sorry, since I simply do not know for sure, but I am pretty confident that you are right.
Good, even though a bit lengthy ... but so what. :-)
@daniel are you able to add to the message description at https://translatewiki.net/wiki/MediaWiki:Categorytree-empty-bullet/qqq ?

Please update whatever is needed - message text, message documentation, etc. As it is, it not i18n-able.

Unless anything is special here, using the usual PLURAL will do.

Please also clarify the word class of $2. Can it be used as a verb? Is there a translation? Where to find it?
Generally, to be helpful for such users who might be wanting to address the problem, it would be nice to tell them which list of proxies is the source of the listing.
Thank you. Message documentation updated: https://translatewiki.net/w/i.php?title=Wikimedia%3AGapfinder-article-pageviews%2Fqqq&action=historysubmit&type=revision&diff=6921916&oldid=6866076

I am utterly confused. Message and description still appear contradicting to me, and I do not understand the " browser window ... page chrome " - sorry. So what am I supposed to translate the message to?

Since I only in part seem to understand where this initiative is aiming, it might be a step forward to collect then "lot of phabricator tickets that fall under this larger umbrella." @aripstra: can you do that?

I have seen sideways movements of such blocks (strangely on mobile displays - not even in landscape mode but there, too) and I do not know specifically on this one. Still, it is usually safer, not to use such references.

If you use the "one=" syntax,, you tell translators to special case "one" in their language and treat all other counts equally. That is not appropriate for the majority of languages, that have e.g. a zero case or various other individual diverging things like dual or a modulo-4 divide, etc.
