Steps to replicate the issue (include links if applicable):
- Go to this Image page on Commons: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:San_Isidro_Town_Plaza_(Nueva_Ecija)_21.jpg
- Click on either the "1,536 × 2,048 pixels" or "3,888 × 5,184 pixels" thumbnail link
What happens?:
Generated thumbnail has wrong orientation and is clipped
What should have happened instead?:
I expect that the image thumbnail is correctly generated similar to how it is if you click on the "768 × 1,024 pixels" thumbnail link or smaller.
Software version (skip for WMF-hosted wikis like Wikipedia):
N/A
Other information (browser name/version, screenshots, etc.):
It appears that for certain JPEG images generated by some cameras where the pixel order is not the usual (top-down, left-to-right; you can see this if you click the image itself to get the original file and see how the browser rendering goes from right-to-left, top-to-bottom), the thumbnail service fails to generate the correct image above a certain size.
