Create a setting for visual enhancements in Special:Preferences

Description

This task is about introducing a setting within Special:Preferences#mw-prefsection-editing that people who have the Discussion tools beta feature enabled on wikis where Topic Containers have been made available will see.

Note: over time, the setting this task is introducing will “house” the additional usability improvement features we will be making available (e.g. T304372 and T304371).

Requirements

  1. People who have the Discussion tools beta feature enabled on wikis where Topic Containers have been made available should see the following when they visit Special:Preferences#mw-prefsection-editing:
    • Setting title: Show discussion activity
    • Setting description: This will enable a new talk page appearance that includes information about the activity within each discussion.
  2. The setting “2.” Is describing should appear within the existing Discussion pages section/heading that appears within Special:Preferences#mw-prefsection-editing [i]
