I attempted to upload an image to Wikimedia Commons; this resulted in an error message saying:
A file identical to this file ([[:$1]]) has previously been deleted. You should check that file's [https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Special:Log/delete?type=delete&page={{urlencode:$1|WIKI}} deletion history]. If you disagree with the reason for deletion, please make an [[Commons:Undeletion requests|undeletion request]] instead of re-uploading.
Naturally, I was unable to do as requested.

Hi @Pigsonthewing, please always follow https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/How_to_report_a_bug when creating tasks and include clear steps.
Is this about UploadWizard? Special:Upload? Some external tool?
Can you upload the test case file here?
This was using the upload wizard.
The file was the uncropped version of https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Faberg%C3%A9_N%C3%A9cessaire_egg.jpg (which I re-uploaded having determined that it is "PD-anon-70"
Presumably file-deleted-duplicate needs to be rendered somewhere as parsed (wikitext) instead of plaintext.
n.b. the task I just merged this into says "for Flickr uploads", I will update the description to mention this also happens for normal file uploads as well.
