Simon's Town Cape Peninsula
Simon's Town is a maritime naval town and home to the African Penguin colony at Boulders Beach where humans and penguins share the sand and the sea. The swimming is fabulous – flat, calm and the warmest water in Cape Town as it is protected by giant boulders. The main viewing area has viewing platforms and boardwalks.

Love this moody shot of Boulders Beach Photo: David Burstein "Oh yes the penguins, one of the biggest attractions at Boulders is the colony of African Penguins. Now I’ve got nothing against penguins, they look cute and are very entertaining but I was there for the amazing rocks covered in sea life, lichen, etc, set in clear blue water with dramatic clouds rounding off the scene.
