The writing feels ai-generated because of how clingy it is. It's desperately trying to get you engaged by dropping narratively unfitting interactions on you. No one speaks like a real person, they all speak like quest-givers. If you ever tried out AI-dungeon, you know what I mean - you just met a person and they instantly dropped their life story and deep questions on you.
