Depression is psychological disorder which causes sadness in one's life for prolonged period of time and they lose interest in their lives. It also affects one's thought process, behavior, and feeling. Coping is defined as "cognitive and behavioral efforts" a person employs to manage stress, generally categorized as emotion focused or problem focused coping. Self-Efficacy is a person's particular set of beliefs that determine how well one can execute a plan of action in prospective situations. The present study adopts a correlational design to determine whether there is any relationship between depression, coping, and self-efficacy in middle adults. It also adopts a between group design to determine whether gender differences exist with respect to depression, coping, and self-efficacy. A non-probability convenience sampling method was used to select sample. During the data collection, 40 middle adults were obtained out of which 21 are males and 19 are females. Findings of study show negative correlation between depression and coping in middle adults and positive correlation between coping and self-efficacy in middle adults. Findings of study show that it is imperative for middle adults to adopt positive habits in their lives to live a happy and healthy mental and physical life to not let depression capture their lives and cope with various life demands and problems effectively as it would enhance their levels of self-efficacy since they have so many roles, duties, and responsibilities on their shoulders.

Self-Efficacy is a person's particular set of beliefs that determine how well one can execute a p... more Self-Efficacy is a person's particular set of beliefs that determine how well one can execute a plan of action in prospective situations (Bandura, 1977). Self-esteem is one's positive or negative attitude toward oneself and one's evaluation of one's own thoughts and feelings overall in relation to oneself (Rosenberg, 1965). Life satisfaction is defined as an overall assessment of feelings and attitudes about one's life at a particular point in time ranging from negative to positive (Buetell, 2006). Slum is defined by as one or a group of individuals living under the same roof in an urban area, lacking in one or more of the following five amenities-durable housing (a permanent structure providing protection from extreme climatic conditions), sufficient living area (no more than three people sharing a room), access to improved water (water that is sufficient, affordable, and can be obtained without extreme effort), access to improved sanitation facilities (a private toilet, or a public one shared with a reasonable number of people), secure tenure (UN-HABITAT, 2006/7). The current research adopts a correlational design to find relation between self-efficacy, self-esteem, and life satisfaction in slum dwellers. It adopts a between group design for comparing genders with respect to self-efficacy, self-esteem, and life satisfaction. A non-probability purposive sampling technique has been adopted for selection of sample where 52 people living in slums were obtained out of which 19 are males and 33 are females. The findings of the study show positive correlation between self-efficacy and life satisfaction among slum dwellers. This suggest that initiative should be taken by government for cultivating skills, talents of poor people as this would foster their level of self-efficacy, selfesteem and would bring satisfaction in their lives.

Competitiveness is defined as enjoyment of interpersonal competition and being better than others (Riskind and Wilson, 1982). Coping is defined as constantly changing cognitive and behavioural efforts to manage specific external and/or internal demands that are appraised as taxing or exceeding the resources of the person (Lazarus and Folkman, 1984). Young adulthood is a unique developmental period that occurs between the ages of 18 and 25 years, during which there are key developmental tasks that allow the young adult to participate in self-exploration and identity formation (Elena Higley, 2019). The current research adopts a correlational design to find relation between perceived peer pressure, competitiveness, and coping in college students. It adopts a between group design for comparing students with respect to peer pressure, competitiveness, and coping. A non-probability purposive sampling technique has been adopted for selection of sample where 62 students were obtained out of which 14 are males and 48 are females. The findings of the study showed that undergraduate and postgraduate students differ with respect to peer pressure. This suggest that educational institutions should initiate measures to foster interpersonal relation among college students so that peer pressure is reduced, fair competition is promoted among students as this would help them to cope with the stresses of academic life effectively.

Sense of coherence is defined as a personality trait that expresses an individual's global outloo... more Sense of coherence is defined as a personality trait that expresses an individual's global outlook on life (Antonovsky, A. 1987). Psychological Well-being refers to the simple notion of a person's welfare, happiness, advantages, interests, utility, and quality of life (Burris et al, 2009). Life satisfaction is the degree to which a person positively evaluates the overall quality of his or her life as a whole. In other words, how much the person likes the life he or she leads (Ruut Veenhoven, 1996). The immune system is a collection of billions of cells that travel through the bloodstream. They move in and out of tissues and organs, defending the body against foreign bodies (antigens), such as bacteria, viruses and cancerous cells (Saul McLeod, 2010). Aging refers to the inevitable, irreversible decline in organ function that occurs over time even in the absence of injury, illness, environmental risks, or poor lifestyle choices like unhealthy diet, lack of exercise, substance abuse (Richard W. Besdine, 2019). The current research adopts a correlational design to find relation between sense of coherence, psychological well-being, life satisfaction, and immune system in geriatrics and also to ascertain whether sense of coherence, psychological well-being, life satisfaction could impact immune system of geriatrics. A non-probability purposive sampling technique has been adopted for selection of samples where 102 samples were obtained out of which 44 are males and 58 are females. The findings of the study showed that sense of coherence shares a positive correlation with psychological well-being in geriatrics. It also showed that sense of coherence shares a positive correlation with life satisfaction in geriatrics. Also, it has been found that psychological well-being and life satisfaction shared a positive correlation in geriatrics. A positive correlation was also found between life satisfaction and immune system in geriatrics. From the results, it has been found that life satisfaction could impact immune system of geriatrics. The findings of the study suggest that young citizens, government should take measures for proper physical as well as psychological care of geriatrics as this would positively impact their mental state which in turn would strengthen their immune system and result in proper functioning of their bodies.

Job Satisfaction as a Predictor of Self Esteem in White Collar Workers

Self esteem refers to an individual's sense of his or her value or worth, or the extent to which a person values, approves of, appreciates, prizes, or likes him or herself (Blascovich & Tomaka, 1991). A white-collar worker belongs to a class of employees known for earning higher average salaries doing highly skilled work, but not by performing manual labor at their jobs (Adam Hayes, 2021). The current research adopts a between groups design to study gender differences in white collar workers with respect to job satisfaction and self esteem. A correlational design was used to find relationship between job satisfaction and self esteem. A non-probability purposive sampling technique was adopted for selection of samples where 110 samples were obtained out of which 53 were males and 57 were females through the application of Richard Bellingham's Job Satisfaction Scale and Rosenberg's Self Esteem Scale. IBM SPSS software was used for statistical analysis. The findings of the study showed that females scored higher with regards to job satisfaction and self esteem. A positive correlation was found between job satisfaction and self esteem among white collar workers. The study also shows that job satisfaction could predict self esteem level in white collar workers. The findings of the research suggest that organizations should undertake measures where white collar workers could cultivate their skills, talents as this would lead to job satisfaction which in turn would enhance their level of self esteem.
