However, an overall study of the church, that would take into account its architecture as well as its images, has yet to be fulfilled. This is what this study attempts to do, collating different sources: written documents, sculpted and painted images, photo archives and building archaeology results. After a presentation of the history of the priory, the evolution of its architecture is analysed. This is followed by a study of its sculpted and painted iconography. Finally the last chapter gathers up these results in order to carry out a global reflection on the relations between the images and the locus in the church. Thus this study aims for a better comprehension of the church, which, during the Middle Ages, was not an ordinary building, but the centre of the society.
