Traces of Texas reader Sharon Turner was so kind as to submit this wonderful 1943 photo of the train depot in Marshall, Texas. It was taken by her father through the window of a train, which is why, on the left-hand side, you can see the reflection of a man who is standing inside the train.

"The Texas & Pacific Station" -- [located at 104 Market Street - Shreveport, Louisiana - closed in 1964. A three-story structure - had marble trim around the doors, the original chandelier, three-color terrazzo floors, & a thirty-foot ticket counter made of black builder’s glass. The city bought the station from the James S. Noel Foundation in 1996.
