Also a favourite of mine, I cannot remember life when digestives were not in it…they have been around forever! Devised in the early 18th century in Scotland, they are so ubiquitous in a household biscuit tin that I hadn’t even stopped to consider their origin! Had to research this one a bit and create a brand new recipe with the flavour I thought replicated the original. I hope you enjoy them, I was so thrilled with the result! 🙌🏼🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿💯 Makes 18 biscuits 140g unsalted butter 85g soft brown sugar 250g Wholemeal plain flour 1 tbsp malt extract Half tsp salt Half tsp bicarbonate soda Half tsp tartaric
