Dr Kamran Azam
Research and Teaching are my lifetime passions. I derive motivation from my students’ achievements in academic & professional careers as well as a successful human being. I am a staunch believer in the indigenization of research; considering the context as important as the content itself. My personal definition of the novelty of an idea always completes with significant contribution to the problems that we are facing in our societal contexts. I see religion as a potential source for understanding the missing links in modern thought. I have started working on human resource development, exploring the societal impact of environmental degradation since my MBA project. The project was on Human Resource Training Needs Assessment of Non-Governmental Organizations at Lahore, Pakistan. The same lines have been followed in a greater depth in MS and PhD Dissertations, where the coping capacities of human resources and communities were assessed for effective disaster management (DM) in the wake of Super-floods 2010. Envisioning my future research endeavors; I am looking in to the cross disciplinary exploration of HRD and DM with environmental degradation, climate change and its trans-boundary diplomacies in the critical human and political geographies, like the Durand Line.
I am in teaching profession since 2006 and to me teaching is not just an instructional process of delivering content. It is the transformation in human behaviors caused by teacher as role model. A teacher is not merely disseminating knowledge; rather he is giving and sharing himself for the human good. After a semester long interaction, my students are able to understand catchy jargons with necessary theoretical depth, know their local context and able to solve problems. I am not convinced by the notion of nourishing the shiny students only, the backbenchers are my favorite audience and I keep them engaged. Knowing my students in person is possible by my habit of taking tea breaks in students’ café rather than faculty rooms. This is further complemented by responding online on their queries at university portal, email, and social media.

on the financial position of the company or organizational performance. Recently organizations
make out that they have to even out the balance between the contributions made by the
employees to the organization and organization s contributions to the employees. The survey
design method was use in this study as outlined by Baker, 1994. A Questionnaire having two
sections was put to use for data collection. Section A, contained Autobiographical information
about the respondents whereas; section B, contained information about the variables being tested
to check the Research hypothesis stated above, set by De Beer,(1987). Sampling was done by
approaching 50 employees from Wilson Pharmaceuticals, mostly senior, middle and line
managers who were related to HR or line, for filling the questionnaires. Our finding that
Employee compensation is linked to subsequent performance is consistent with recent studies
(Leonard, 1990; Abowd, 1990). Based on these results, this study suggests that firms should use
effective compensational strategies to boost firm s financial position.
