Winter is the season to leave the garden alone and stay inside making things. Here is an embroidery I recently finished. The camellias are in flower to give some lift to the drab winter garden, though I am surprised that there are also some roses still flowering. With all of the rain we have been having there is not much frost this year. How are you finding this year's winter thus far?
It has been cold here and definitely not gardening weather plus the possums have put me off planting beans etc. this year. Perhaps they will move on next year but I won’t hold my breath.
ReplyDeleteYeh, I would not hold my breath on possums going away. They haunted our house in the mountains for years once they decided to arrive.
DeleteIt's been very cold here too, but not so wet as other States, but forecast is for more wet days in the coming week. I love your embroidery and it's good weather to enjoy your time indoors. I love watercolour painting so that's how I spend some of my time when not outside in the garden.
ReplyDeleteWatercolour painting, that is interesting. You should share some of your work on your blog.
DeleteJoan, what a beautiful piece of embroidery, and I assume, your amazing crochet edge! The camellias are exquiste.
ReplyDeleteWe are normally in Canada with our family, this time of year, so I am very much enjoying our cooler weather and sunny skies. I feel so much more energised without the heat and it is a pleasure to work in the garden.
Thanks Helen. The edge is my work but is tatting rather than crochet, I found I was hopeless at crochet. I agree the winter temperature in Brisbane is very pleasant but not if you are living in an old Queenslander house ... they are freezing
