Natural Gardening: Lasagna Gardening

Lasagne Gardening is also known as sheet composting. Regular cCompost heaps rely on heat to decompose but the ‘Lasagne’ method relies on worms and other organisms. The brown carbon-rich layers need to be twice as thick as the green high-nitrogen layers to avoid the end product becoming too acidic. Each layer is packed loosely to allow aeratio.

Lasagna gardening! No need to till, but need to start late summer or fall to have it ready for seedlings in spring
Un compost sur le principe du moule coulissant qui chauffe et à outillage réduit... Diamètre minimum de 1 m (idéal 1.60m). On démarre par du carton et on fait le lasagne habituel : une couche carbonée (marron) puis une couche azotée (verte) etc. On tasse au bord de la bande avec un piquet non pointu pour que le compost soit bien moulé. Lasagna Gardening -- Start a new garden anywhere on your lawn using this method. You start in the fall if you are going to plant the following Spring. The lasagna layers turn the grass into compost so it is gone when you are ready to plant. I've done it several times and it makes great soil!
