Each of these types of physical activity can help build healthy bodies while developing a strong heart, lungs, bones and muscles. In the past three decades, research has indicated increases in obesity prevalence among children of all ages. The American Heart Association (2016) suggested that children ages two years and older should participate in at least 60 minutes of moderate-intensity physical activity every day. Yet, observers and researchers have found that not all children living in the United States are meeting that recommendation. In November 2016, SHAPE America-Society of Health and Physical Educators reported that "three quarters of children in the U.S. are currently not meeting physical activity recommendations, putting them at risk for future obesity, diabetes, and related chronic illness" (p. 1). Obese children normally turn into obese adults, which results in other chronic diseases and elevated medical costs (Cheung, Cunningham, Naryan, & Kramer, 2016). Incorporating more informal and naturally occurring movement during childhood may offer opportunities to improve health over a life span.

Both males and females were included in the analysis which fills a gap in prior research. Researchers report a total of 11 studies, nine examining sexual harassment prevalence rates and two examining adverse work outcomes. Results found that sexual harassment was prevalent in the federal workplace r = .60, with women experiencing sexual harassment significantly more than men. Gender harassment had the greatest adverse effects as reported by employees r = .84 and was positively correlated with sexual harassment. The present findings suggest that sexual harassment in the workplace is still a critical topic of concern to employers. Future research should address both same sex and opposite sex harassment to display the value of providing more comprehensive trainings and prevention programs to employers.

Body composition of 27 women was assessed by ADP followed immediately by MFBIA. There was a strong relationship (p = .01) between ADP and MFBIA in absolute lean mass (r = 0.80), absolute fat mass (r = 0.99), percent lean mass (r = 0.91), and percent fat mass (r = 0.91). Although MFBIA consistently overestimated lean mass and underestimated fat mass compared with ADP, agreement between measurements was within 2%-3% body fat. An accurate assessment tool, MFBIA can be useful in clinical settings. Women are at high risk for loss of muscle and gains in fat with age (Hughes,

The present research examined whether anxiety, depression, and posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) symptoms were associated with prior abuse or with being attributed to past or present relationships. Scales such as the Dating Relationship Profile (DRP) and hypothetical scenarios of abuse perpetration were used. This study hypothesized that acceptability ratings from hypothetical scenarios would predict answers on DRP items measuring whether physical or psychological abuse is considered acceptable in relationships. Specifically, gender would be a predictor variable. Convenience sampling of undergraduate psychology students from a comprehensive, metropolitan university in north Georgia was used and resulted in 291 respondents (n = 227 [78%] female, n = 64 [22%] male) whose ages ranged from 18 to 54 years (M = 20.57 years, SD = 5.12 years). The present research used a 2 ×...

now required (fall 2015) to pass a national teacher assessment
portfolio known as the education Teacher Performance
Assessment (edTPA). This is one of the many
requirements (pass GACE content tests, pass GACE ethics
assessment, and pass their Education Preparation
Provider program’s student teaching requirements)
needed to earn their induction certificate to teach in
Georgia public schools. This assessment is completed
during the student teacher’s clinic experience (student
teaching) for a total of three to five lessons or three to
five hours of instruction. For mentor teachers to be more
supportive of teacher candidates completing the edTPA
tasks, they should become familiar with this assessment’s
requirement. This article is the first of a two-part
series focused on giving physical education mentor
teachers insights into the requirements and themes of the
edTPA. More specifically, this article provides an overview
of the edTPA and discusses ways that mentor
teachers can better support teacher candidates during
their student teaching semester.

The present research used a 2 3 2 between-subjects design examining gender and type of hypothetical scenario violence with perceptions of abuse as the dependent variable. A significant association between experience of abuse and attribution of anxiety, depression, and PTSD symptoms to past or present relationships and between experience of abuse and these symptoms was found. Results revealed a significant difference between acceptability ratings of psychological abuse and gender, with men perceiving psychological abuse as more acceptable.

To further explore teaching " s high attrition rate, this study sought to investigate the personalities of collegiate pre-service teachers and collegiate non-teaching majors by using the International Personality Item Pool (IPIP-NEO). Results of this study indicated that pre-service teacher " s personality traits were less neurotic and less open to new experiences compared to non-teaching majors. No differences were found in other personality factors such as extraversion, agreeableness, and conscientiousness. Implications of this study may lead to a better understanding of common personality types of those in the educational field.

It is just as important to take care of the brain as it is the heart and the rest of the body. Helping stu- dents realize how to maximize their brain readiness will promote alertness and memory so they can be more attentive and productive in the classroom. Hands-on mathematics and successful math homework models are vital tools in helping students to be success- ful both inside and outside of the classroom.
