Del Majore
My thesis phase of research is the culmination of Indigenous specialization of the BSW and MSW programs at UVIC. My research question: How can the Medicine Wheel Journey inform an Indigenous-centered, helping framework in mental health services for Indigenous people?
My research method is autobiography while using Indigenous Communal Narrative (Sellers, 2007), whereby I integrate 11 evaluative measures to my life story. I am applying life writing using 20 themes, called Indigenous Ways of Being & Knowing. Therefore, I have applied a methodology of Research of Self from a Sense of Place, which followed my Ancestral Pathway across most of Canada, especially Metis Nation Homeland and parts of Hungary.
Supervisors: Dr. J. Carriere and Dr. R. Thomas
