The process has had the benefit of sound advice from officials and stakeholders and, perhaps more importantly, strong leadership from the office of the permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education. However, universal implementation is challenging given the lack of resources, national ICT infrastructure, and even electrical supplyparticularly in the rural areas. As technology is bound to rule our present and future, it is good to obtain know-how of the technological reforms at the earliest. Children learn faster and can adapt to changes relatively easily. If they are trained during their school years, they have a high chance of becoming experts in technology. Computers can give lovelier explanations to various subjects. The internet is an ocean of information which can be harnessed for the rendition of information in school. The inclusion of technology in the learning process makes learning an enjoyable activity, thus inviting greater interest from the learners. The administration processes, the official procedures of the school can be simplified by the means of technology. School records, the information about all the students and the teachers and other school employees can efficiently be maintained by means of the advanced technology. Thus we see that technology not only benefits the school students but also eases the office work. It makes possible a more effective way of storage and distribution of information. The realization of the importance of technology in schools and its successful implementation is a necessity. The introduction of technology in schools is the means to bridge the long distance between the present and the future.

There is conclusive research evidence that the provision of quality basic education to a Country's population is crucial to achievement of rapid and sustained National Development, elimination of poverty, ignorance and diseases. Primary education in Kenya has been free following the government decree of UPE causing high enrolment in primary schools although the transition of pupils to secondary schools remains low in Ruiru District. The purpose of the study, therefore, was to investigate why there has been low transition of pupils from primary to secondary schools in Ruiru District despite the implementation of Free Primary Education in Kenya. The study was guided by the System Theory which is basically concerned with problems of relationships, of structures and of interdependence, rather than with the constant attributes of objects. The study established that fund released by the government was not adequate to cater for human resource, physical facilities and teaching / learning resources. However, to ensure learners graduate in class eight and transite to secondary school, the study concluded that some schools introduced school feeding programmes to enhance retention, the government should allocate adequate funds to schools to ensure that Free Primary Education programme run smoothly without compromising quality of education which eventually influence learners' transition rate from one level to another; parents and community members should fully support pupils education and school development projects among other recommendations.

The schools put a lot of emphasis on frequent continuous assessment, remedial teaching and give loads of assignment to the learners which became a daily routine to ensure that learners are able to achieve high grades which are considered of worth by the parents, teachers and the entire society (Bundu, 2009). This Abstract: Effective curriculum implementation in schools should be geared towards nurturing and promoting development of holistic learners which is the desire of every education system worldwide. The same is able to instill practical skills, knowledge, desired values, beliefs and attitudes in learners who in turn become useful members in the society. The purpose of the study was to establish the influence of co-curricular activities on the development of holistic learners in public secondary schools in Kiambu County, Kenya. The study was ...

The study found out that retention rates in public primary schools in central zone of Malindi sub-county, Kenya had declined and the dropout rate was on the increase. The most prominent causes of the declining rates of access and retention of pupils in public primary schools in the zone were, illiteracy, poverty, early pregnancy, grade repetition and tourism activities. The study recommends that the government enforce adherence of the laid down policies to enhance learner retention in education. The government should also put up adult education centres to help improve literacy levels among parents.
