Second

It's "brother" of that bridge. Both of them opens way to small island on the pond in the Kuzminki Park.

Love, chained

Tradition to lock the lock on "Cast-Iron bridge" on the wedding day is really popular here.

Under the Bridge

I keep on posting the geometry of the city. Today the geometry is under the bridge at Andreevskaya Embankment. These massive piers hold the lately constructed highway, 3rd transport ring, that's how it looks from above the bridge:

Postcard

I liked the shapes and geometry of this view and wanted to share them with you. The view of the garden near the church of Christ the Savior in foreground; the bridge over Moskva-river leading to the Church to the right; the red brick buildings of Red October ex-factory behind the bridge, the President Hotel in the background. Plus greens everywhere.

Zhivopisny bridge

Not much photographing these grey days, but my work project is almost done and they promise warmth and sun next week, so I make plans for photographing.
This photo was taken today from the car window on my way to the office. I slowed down and turned on the flash lights to get several shots of this beautiful bridge (Link to this bridge's photos taken from other point in the summer).

Across

This is a covered pedestrian bridge across the Moscow River, just outside of the Kievskaya train station.
What makes it interesting is that you have your choice of being inside or outside - there are doors that lead in and out all along the bridge. It was full of people just relaxing and enjoying the views today,
and lots of photographers too!

Metromost

Friday evening. This road, Prospekt Vernadskogo, is heading straight to the centre of the city, to the church of Christ the Saviour, seen in the distance. Main traffic is on the left side of the road, as everybody (the ones, who did not do it earlier) going out of the city. Weather forecast promised high temperatures for this week-end, and was true.
This road is the bridge over Moskva-river. And the lower part of the bridge is underground (metro) station. So I promise to spot the bridge in full glory next time. For this post I want to show the panoramic view from above the bridge.

Google map, Mr.Gomez!

For a change, let's do some training in foreign language:
SevOdnya v gOrode Ochen jArka. It is very hot in the city today. (Almost common phrase for Northern hemisphere, I think:-))))

Across the Bridge

I have climbed up the bridge across the Moscow-River, hoping to make interesting photos of city's panorama. On the way back I photographed a passing stranger, and, after returning home, I realized that this picture is more interesting for me than the Moskva-River
I also enclose the river, please choose which subject is more interesting for you.
And the bridge. If someone had told me six month ago that I would turn into curious photo-hunter climbing the bridges, I would consider him a great joker. It is all Moscow photoblog's fault!...

Zhivopisny Most

The bridge over the Moscow River was opened in December 2007. And soon became one of the city's attractions. Its name translates as picturesque bridge. And it is located in very fragile place, Serebrany Bor, forest reserve, full of lakes and pine trees.

Frozen River

Looks like Moskva-river can not recover after low temperatures. Though it is only -3C in the city the river is covered with ice and looks frozen. Small boats waiting for the summer to offer river tours and outdoor dinners.
The tower in the middle (hi! to rules of composition :-) is a new hotel building and the bridge (named "Bagrattion" to favor the hero of 1812 Russian war with Napoleon) directs to the Expocentre exhibition complex (which is in my list for future presentation).
I am glad to return to Moscow after 10 days in sunny and warm Georgia to see my my lovely city in grey tones, again, but not that cold as it was when I was leaving it.
If you are interested in photos about Georgia, here is the link to my uncle's fantastic photos. As he is not strong in use of internet, I help him with posting. He is eminent person and strong professional, I am in love with his works.

Yellow Submarine?

Today we had sun (at last!). But. Why there is always "but"? But the temperature at a moment is -20C (-4F) and I do not feel strong enough to go out to make photos.

That is why I am posting my yesterday photo. My favorite ingridients collected all together: river, bridge, boat and the city.
