Merging items
editHallo Rigadoun,
For merging items, you may want to use the merge.js gadget from help page about merging. It has an option "Request deletion for extra items on RfD" to automatically place a request to delete the empytied page. This way of nominating makes it a lot easier for the admins to process the requests.
With regards, - - (Cycn/talk) 08:47, 30 January 2014 (UTC)
- Also just to add, Q9068812 and Q10360398 are not the same as one is about the star and the other is a disambiguation. They remain separate on Wikidata. Thanks for the merges and happy editing :) Del♉sion23 (talk) 20:23, 25 February 2014 (UTC)
Merging items, part 2
editHi Rigadoun, please do not merge a book with one of it's editions (see Wikidata:Books task force). The play/work/book Hamlet for example is not the same as the editon Hamlet, Prinz von Dänemark (Stuttgart: Reclam, 1995). Detailed explanation: Wikidata:Books task force. Cheers --Kolja21 (talk) 17:30, 18 July 2014 (UTC)
Hi, Rigadoun. Thanks for your contributions. I found that you merged Q11067632 (zh:张莉) to Q197236 (en:Zhang Li et al.). However, en:Zhang Li refers to many different Chinese names (such as 張礪, 张立, etc.) that are all transliterated as Zhang Li. 张莉 is just one of them. It should not be merged to Q197236. Your merge was reverted. Unfortunately Q11067632 has been deleted. You may create another item for zh:张莉. And Wikidata can create redirect page now. When you merge items, please change the merged one to a redirect page (as I did to Q9315353) so that the merged item will not be deleted. The option of creating redirect page can be found at Merge.js for merge. Thanks. --Neo-Jay (talk) 15:59, 21 September 2014 (UTC)
Inquiry
editCan you speak Polish? Are Q1129362 and Q1016979 the same?--Kopiersperre (talk) 12:24, 2 March 2016 (UTC)
Redirects
editI see you've had to redirect three items I created, in the last few hours - Lacken Malateste (Q27717268), Ellen Mirojnick (Q27811381) and Annie Brackett (Q27777580). I rend to rely on Petscan to provide indications as to whether there is an existing item of the same name as the articles for which I'm creating new items ... I wouldn't want you to think that I'm creating items with no concern about the possibility of duplicates. I'm unsure why, in these three cases, either Petscan failed to find the existing items (or I failed to notice Petscan's indicator). Sorry about all that. --Tagishsimon (talk) 05:39, 3 December 2016 (UTC)
Share your experience and feedback as a Wikimedian in this global survey
editHello! The Wikimedia Foundation is asking for your feedback in a survey. We want to know how well we are supporting your work on and off wiki, and how we can change or improve things in the future. The opinions you share will directly affect the current and future work of the Wikimedia Foundation. You have been randomly selected to take this survey as we would like to hear from your Wikimedia community. The survey is available in various languages and will take between 20 and 40 minutes.
You can find more information about this survey on the project page and see how your feedback helps the Wikimedia Foundation support editors like you. This survey is hosted by a third-party service and governed by this privacy statement (in English). Please visit our frequently asked questions page to find more information about this survey. If you need additional help, or if you wish to opt-out of future communications about this survey, send an email through the EmailUser feature to WMF Surveys to remove you from the list.
Thank you!

Rhopalodon
editGood morning, I hope you are well. Sorry I had to revert your move of ca:Rhopalodon wangenheimi from Q3179099 to Q16596120. The way automatic taxoboxes are set up on the Catalan Wikipedia requires this article (and similar ones) to be linked to the former on WikiData while invoking the latter locally. I apologise again for the inconvenience and hope you have a great day. Cheers.--Leptictidium (talk) 06:54, 24 June 2021 (UTC)
