Sing (Japanese: うたう Sing) is a non-damaging Normal-type move introduced in Generation I.
Effect
Sing puts the target to sleep.
Pokémon with Insomnia, Vital Spirit, Shields Down (with the shield active), or Comatose as their Ability are immune to sleep. Pokémon with Soundproof (due to it being a sound-based move) are also immune to Sing.
Sing is a sound-based move.
Generation I
In the handheld games only, Sing can affect a target behind a substitute.
Generation II
Sing can no longer affect a target behind a substitute.
In the Generation II core series games, when an in-game opponent outside of the Battle Tower uses Sing, the move has a 25% chance to fail in addition to its normal chance to miss.
Generations III to V
Sing can be used as the first move of a Pokémon Contest combination, causing Perish Song and Refresh to score double the normal appeal if used in the next turn.
Generation VI onwards
Sing can now hit a target behind a substitute.
If powered up by a Normalium Z into Z-Sing, the user's Speed stat is raised by one stage. Throat Chop cannot prevent a Pokémon from using Z-Sing.
Sing can be used as part of a Contest Spectacular combination, causing certain moves (Dream Eater, Hex, Nightmare and Wake-Up Slap) to give an extra three appeal points if used in the next turn.

Super Smash Bros. series
Sing is Jigglypuff's up special. The move puts all ground-bound users near Jigglypuff to sleep, and does not affect players in the air. The more damage the opponent has taken, the longer they sleep. Unlike most up specials, Sing does not act as a recovery move.
Pokémon Rumble Rush
In Pokémon Rumble Rush, all status moves including Sing could only be used by opposing Pokémon and could not be obtained on any caught Pokémon. Sing could be seen as a move used by Boss Igglybuff.

- Sing is a Psychic-type move when used by Rosa (Champion) & Meloetta due to their passive skill Psychic Performance.
Pokémon UNITE
In Pokémon UNITE, Sing is Wigglytuff's second move. It is obtained by evolving from Jigglypuff at level 4 and upgrading Defense Curl into it instead of Defense Curl. The user begins singing, slowing enemies around them and increasing the user's movement speed. Enemies that stay inside the song's effect for too long will be put to sleep for 1.4s, and have their Defense and Special Defense reduced by 25% while asleep. At level 12, the amount of time enemies are asleep is increased by .2s.
Monopoly: Pokémon Exclusive Kanto Edition
In the exclusive edition of Monopoly: Pokémon Kanto Edition, Sing is the Power Card belonging to Jigglypuff. Once per game, at the end of their turn, the player using Jigglypuff may immediately take another turn, ostensibly by making every other player fall asleep.

Trivia
- In Pokémon Yellow, there is a Trainer in the Pewter City Pokémon Center whose Jigglypuff puts the player's Pikachu to sleep after singing. Although the player's Pikachu will not follow them until it is talked to or until the player exits the Pokémon Center, Pikachu will not be inflicted with the sleep status at any point.
- Although sound-based moves were not flagged as such until Generation III, Sing's move index number falls near other Generation I sound-based moves: Growl, Roar, and Supersonic.
- Sing is one of a few moves with its accuracy being different between the core series (55%) and Pokémon Masters EX (45%).
