This Tretta was added to the prizes available to players participating in the Super! Mega Evolution Battle starting with those present at venues also hosting the Pokémon Trading Card Game Rayquaza Mega Battle events. The Super! Mega Evolution Battle was present at the Nagoya Trade & Industry Center, Nagoya on May 5, 2015; at Makuhari Messe, Chiba on May 9 and 10, 2015; and at Intex Osaka, Osaka on May 31, 2015. The Rayquaza Mega Battle was also held at the Sapporo Factory, Sapporo on May 23 and 24, 2015, but the Super! Mega Evolution Battle was not present at this venue. It was awarded again in the same manner at several later events. Details of these events are as follows:
- At the 2015 Tokyo Toy Show, held at the Tokyo International Exhibition Center, Tokyo on June 20 and 21, 2015.
- At VIVACE Amusement Space, Ōbu, Aichi on June 14, 2015.
- At participating Pokémon Centers on the weekend of June 20 and 21, 2015.
- At participating stores nationwide in Japan on the weekends of July 4 and 5, 2015 and July 11 and 12, 2015. The Primal Groudon and Primal Kyogre Tretta were not available as prizes at these events.
Unlike previous challenge events, which featured a number of possible teams, the Super! Mega Evolution Battle only featured one, comprising Primal Kyogre, Primal Groudon, and Mega Rayquaza. Players who managed to fill the Catch Gauge of any one Pokémon were awarded either this Tretta, a Primal Kyogre Tretta, or a Primal Groudon Tretta at random. Players who did not manage to defeat any Pokémon at these events were instead awarded a Sceptile Tretta. Players who managed to fill the Catch Gauge of all three opposing Pokémon were awarded the Sceptile Tretta in addition to the victory prize. Participants with the top 10 highest scores in each event were also awarded a certificate. The team present at each Super! Mega Evolution Battle is detailed below.
