Trivia
- Headlong Rush is tied with Precipice Blades for the highest base power of all Ground-type moves, excluding Z-Moves, Max Moves, and G-Max Moves.
- In Japanese, ぶちかまし Buchikamashi (Headlong Rush) is a sumo term which refers to the frontal collision of the two sumo wrestlers right at the beginning of a match.[1][2]
- The move's Ground type is likely a pun with the word ちか chika which means "underground" in Japanese.[3]
- This also is likely the reason why this move is considered a punching move, and why it can be learned by Hariyama.
- In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Charizard's forward smash is also known as Headlong Rush, though Charizard cannot learn the move in core games. This game was released prior to Headlong Rush's introduction as a move in the core series.
