Consequently, the scope of peacekeeping and development operations have widened considerably. The mandates now cover a vast variety of responsibilities, such as promoting human security, supporting power-sharing arrangements and elections, strengthening the rule of law, monitoring respect of human rights and promoting economic and social development. It has become clear that women, men, boys and girls experience violence before, during and after conflicts differently and have different vulnerabilities, insecurities and coping mechanisms. Furthermore, conflicts have an impact on gender roles and relations as people often have to take up roles they might not do in peace times. The mandates of democratic sustainability and peace development have become more and more complex around the globe. There is increasing recognition that a gendered approach to the development of peace is essential to adequately respond to the needs of women, men, boys and girls who have been affected differently by conflict. The integration of gender into issues of peace development has taken two approaches: mainstreaming gender into the mandates, policies and practices of peace development and increasing the number of women working in peacekeeping operations. The United Nations Department of Peace Keeping Operations (UNDPKO) reports that as of 2008, only 2% of military personnel in UN peacekeeping were female. This paper aims to enhance understanding of the challenges that stand in the way of realizing the goals of achieving a gender balance in peace development, and peacekeeping operations, looking at recruitment of women, the impact of women peacekeepers, training and capacity-building activities in peacekeeping operations.

Although families are subjected to consummate tests, women are enduring the weight of the economic and social penalties of COVID-19.Gender inequality precipitates gender inequality, and the practice is simply aggravated in periods of crisis or principal blows like the COVID-19 pandemic. To appreciate the effects of the pandemic and to plan policy reactions to the present pandemic, it is significant to take note of prevailing gender disparities and their tendencies to mediate gender influences and roles. Also, to articulate policies that consider established circumstances to deliver a tailored methodology. Governments must pro-actively reach out to women for assistance with tackling the pandemic because of women´s larger engrossment with care of children and the elderly, plus their home-based activities and the actuality that the home is characteristically their purview. Women´...

Sexual harassment has negative effects and is an obstacle to proper integration of women into the labour market. Gender was found to significantly correlate with experiences of sexual harassment, delineation of sexual harassment and the reactions and options adopted in handling it. There were disparities on the possible consequences of sexual harassment. Sexual harassment in the workplace results in an uncomfortable, hostile, offensive or intimidating work environment, which affects employee work morale and work performance. It also reduces job satisfaction and productivity but increases turnover, absenteeism and health challenges. Sexual harassment may never be totally removed in the workplace but all stakeholders stand to benefit from its reduced occurrences and the solutions to the challenge are not simple. However, employers can curb sexual harassment by establishing ...

Women and men require several equivalent skills like social presentability, noticeability, organizational conduct and political skills, plus capable job performances for career success. However, women require abilities that men don’t, to handle the prejudices they countenance just for being women. They require skills to handle the understated and obvious gender jabs. This paper examines gender disparities in the use of impression management tactics in organizational milieu, why these skills are necessitated and what women must do to begin employing them. The findings offer improved grasp of organizational behaviour and specify that constant impression management ends in identity reformation.

Diversity as a subject has received increased interest in modern times and all and sundry appears... more Diversity as a subject has received increased interest in modern times and all and sundry appears to be speaking about it, there doesn't appear to be much actual progress. Contemporary studies confirm that more novel problem-solving and superior decision-making arises when diverse views and perceptions are incorporated in a shared pool of knowledge. Consequently, ineffectiveness in diversifying work teams especially with respect to gender portends the risk of losing the war on talent. Nigeria's population of about some 170.5 million people constitutes the largest population of any African country. Of the vast population, females constitute 49%; about 82.2 million females. Consequently, all discourses on Nigeria's prospect should inevitably involve contemplation of females, their position and those obstacles they face in making the future. Generating a gender sensitive nation obliges deliberate, continuous effort. To sustain inclusion initiatives, gender diversity must be embedded into the fabric of the country. Progressive management is now more than a "one size fits all" approach; it demands a grasp and endorsement of the characteristic values and point of views individuals bring to the table. Women and men bring diverse, but homogeneously vital benefits to the national development. Subsequently, discerning leaders must promote their consciousness of the disparities and build an atmosphere where both are embraced and respected. Gender stereotyping is so entrenched in the Nigerian culture, it is frequently imperceptible. Discrimination commonly happens arising from ignorance rather than premeditated or malicious intent but knowledge obliterates ignorance and reduces stereotyping. Undoubtedly women are Nigeria's unseen resource and advancing their cause increases productivity, encourage sustainable growth, peace and improved health. This study presents a situation analysis and examines the significant issues that require tackling in order to exploit the prospects of females. It emphasises the serious issues and depicts the seriousness and importance of the situation. It therefore calls attention to analysed behaviours and with a new awareness of gender differences with the aim of educating stakeholders, and training individual team members for inclusion and excellence.

Recent data indicate that males and females have somewhat differing priorities in their jobs but share basic ideas of what they think is important. Some research has shown that a supposed values gap between male and female workers does not explain away why men continue to enjoy greater career advancement than women. Social scientists have also theorized that work environments can embody both…
