Anno 1998, homines docti Americani Pellicularum Instituti (Anglice American Film Institute, vel AFI) centum celeberrimas pelliculas Americanas in tabulas rettulerunt. Iudicium fecerunt his de rebus: quanta factae sint arte, quo concursu repetitae sint, quali exemplo et spectantibus et cinematographis fuerint, quemadmodum vitam instituta mores hominum affecerint. Pelliculas omnes in Civitatibus Foederatis Americae factas esse et temporis spatium maius sexaginta minutis consumere oportuit. Anno 2007, indicem renovatam fecerunt. Pellicula diutina: Duratio magis 40 minutis esse debet.
Pellicula CFA: Anglice et maioritas pensionis ex CFA esse debent.
Cognitio: Pellicula cognitionem in periodicis habere debet.
Praemia: Pellicula multa praemia a nobilibus certaminibus habere debet.
Bona Gracia: Multae tesserae vendi debent.
Historica significantia: Pellicula gravis historiae esse debet.
Culturalis appulsus: Pellicula appulsum in cultura CFA habere debet.
